Recent Arrests

Recently, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office has received a number of complaints from citizens in the Gilbertown community in reference to drug activity, gunfire, and theft of property. While it is the primary duty of municipal police departments to investigate criminal activity in their respective town limits and police jurisdictions, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office is taking a proactive approach in assisting our municipality’s combat violent crime, theft and drug distribution. Deputy Sheriffs are also conducting sex offender compliance checks to ensure sex offenders are in compliance with applicable state and federal laws.

These arrests are not all inclusive, and are merely a snapshot of some of the cases deputies and investigators have been working on recently. More charges are likely, as well as more arrests relating to some of these incidents. Choctaw County Sheriff Scott Lolley continues to encourage members of our community to report their concerns and any information that will help the Sheriff’s Office solve crimes. Information and tips from the community have led to a large number of arrests this year, and the Sheriff’s Office greatly appreciates the information we continue to receive from the public. Any information given will be kept confidential, and can be reported 24/7 by calling the Sheriff’s Office, coming to the office in person, or asking a deputy to give you a call.
Sheriff Lolley is taking some new and innovative approaches to combating crime in the future. Currently, Sheriff Lolley has altered patrol shifts to provide more coverage, as well as partnered with our other local, state, federal and task force partners. We have opened scores of new investigations into a variety of issues plaguing our community and arrests relating to illegal drug distribution, theft, gun crime and more are forthcoming. As we all know, policing a county is extremely difficult without a jail, and even more so with 5 deputy sheriffs and limited equipment. However, we will persevere; we lookforward to partnering with Choctaw County Commission in the near future, and with their financial backing and support, make Choctaw County a safer county.
