Wreck call ends with drug arrest

On Monday, February 18, 2019, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call to a wreck at the intersection of Turnertown Road and Busby Road.  Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Colby Roy Austin passed out behind the wheel.  During the course of the investigation, deputies recovered 11 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, 2 types of oxycodone pills, one pistol, one credit card, cash, scales, a pipe, a spoon, rolling papers, and several small empty plastic bags.  Austin will be charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of a Credit/Debit Card, and DUI of a Controlled Substance.  Austin was transported to the Choctaw County Jail where he remains at present time.  This case will be presented to the U.S. Attorneys Office for potential federal charges.  Also responding to the scene was the Choctaw County Rescue Squad and Choctaw County EMS.
