On Thursday, April 26, 2018, deputies with the Choctaw County Sheriffs Office traveled to 187 Busby Road in Needham, Alabama where they arrested Randy Dale Busby following an undercover narcotics buy.  While executing the arrest warrant deputies observed moonshine whiskey inside the residence.  Deputies then performed a search of the residence where they confiscated methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphanalia.

Busby was arrested and charged with two counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Untaxed Alcohol.  Busby was transported to the Choctaw County Jail where he remains at present time.

The Choctaw County Sheriffs Office is in the beginning stages of performing undercover narcotics enforcement.  The sheriffs office has dealt with many obstacles before achieving this point.  Citizens should be patient with their expectations as we are a small rural department that has to work on drug enforcement along with all of our regular day to day duties.  Drug enforcement progress will appear slow but it will continue with a steady pace.  Please remember that the old Drug Task Force has been disbanded for several years and is no longer available to Choctaw County.  The Choctaw County Sheriffs Office drug enforcement effort is being performed using current existing deputy manpower, and it is performing narcotics enforcement using its current allocated budget without any funding from the state or federal government.
