Silas armed robbery suspect arrested

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an armed robbery at the Dollar General in Silas, Alabama.  On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office along with the Clarke County, Mississippi Sheriff’s Office arrested Cameron Clay Williams Jr. for Robbery 1st degree.  Williams is currently housed at the Clarke County, Mississippi Jail.  Williams will be extradited back to Choctaw County and will eventually be housed at the Clarke County, Alabama jail due to the Choctaw County Jail being closed.  Williams is a resident of Grove Hill, Alabama and Quitman, Mississippi.  Williams’s bond has been set at $30,000.  The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office is currently discussing this crime with ATF and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their consideration of possible federal charges.
