Drug Trafficking Arrest in Silas, Alabama

On Thursday, January 25, 2019, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make a traffic stop on Cedar Street in Silas, Alabama.  The suspect drove around two marked units in an attempt to run from authorities.  The suspect ran approximately 4 miles before he finally pulled over.  The vehicle was driven by Terry Lawrence Linder and his passenger Wyatt Austin Reed.  Both were detained on the scene.  Methamphetamine and marijuana was removed from Linder on a weapons check.  More methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia was recovered from within the vehicle along with a substantial amount of cash.  In total, 31.7 grams of methamphetamine was confiscated during this stop.   Reed was released on the scene after the investigation.  Linder was arrested for Drug Trafficking, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Attempting to Elude.  Linder remains in the Choctaw County Jail on a $762,000.00 bond.  Along with state charges, this case will be referred to federal authorities for possible prosecution federally.
