The presiding circuit court judge has closed the courtroom to the public.  The Choctaw County Commission has ordered a no loitering order for the courthouse.
Some inmates were given a court notice to appear for court either Monday, March 30th or Tuesday, March 31, 2020.  If you were one of those inmates and you have bonded out of jail then your court appearance date has automatically been rescheduled for Monday, May 18, 2020.  This court date has automatically been reset by the courts, so do not come to the courthouse until Monday, May 18th.  If you have any questions about this or if you simply want to confirm this information you can call the Choctaw County Circuit Clerks Office at (205)459-2155.
Inmates that are scheduled for either Monday or Tuesday, March 30th or 31st will still have their court appearance.  Those court sessions will only be open to the inmates and officers of the court.  Family members and the public will not be allowed to attend by order of the presiding circuit court judge.
