The Choctaw County Sheriffs Office and the Clarke County Mississippi Sheriffs Office have had several reports of a black male that knocks on home owners doors and attempts to borrow money to help bury a relative. The male has used several different names and sometimes travels with a white male and a white female. In each case we have been given a different description of the vehicle that he’s driving.
Most home owners are waiting one hour or longer before they report the incident. We need you to notify us immediately by calling 911. Try to gather as much information as possible. The vehicle discription, tag number, direction of travel, and any other information would be helpful. Above all, do not give this person money because it’s a scam.
